Episode 31 Transcripts
Hey everyone. It is me, Lisa, and welcome back to another episode of the other 99%. Just wanted to pop on today and talk to you guys about a workshop that I just held recently. So I had an amazing group of ladies join me in a workshop that I was offering about automating text marketing. And in this workshop, it was a six week workshop and I did it a little differently and I really, really liked and I hope the ladies enjoyed it too, the way that I set it up. So Over these six weeks, each week we had a one hour work session. Honestly, most of the weeks went a bit over, but I was happy to help. And in these work sessions, I called them office hours. We actually went through and implemented some systems for the ladies. So they brought everything they needed and we got their text marketing system set up.
Now, we were using Project Broadcast because that was just our choice of platforms, but there are other text marketing platforms out there that you can use. And how I did the training, so because the each week we went through and we did like office hours implementation, and then how I did the training is I uploaded quick little video trainings of how to do certain things and things that we touched on now.
Keeping in mind this workshop was designed and is designed for beginners and intermediate users of the platform, not necessarily somebody who’s been using it and thriving with it for a while. But we touched on the topics and training on how to upload and tag contacts. So I walked through how to set up your Excel sheet and convert it into a CSV file and how to tag people so that they’re in, can easily be found for when you’re sending out messages. I also talked a bit about setting up your broadcast hours because there’s nothing more embarrassing than having a text go out in the middle of the night to somebody because oops, you were up late and you were working and then next thing that you know it’s 2 a.m. and you just hit send on a text. So I talked about how to use project broadcast to prevent that from happening.
I talked about how you can send and schedule broadcast messages, go in there and send to a group of people or to an individual and all that stuff. I talked about creating campaigns and how to use the campaigns to like to deliver basically to deliver information to your customer or team a lot of the stuff I shared about my preferences like what what campaign pains that I Decided to use or I prefer to use I should say I’ll just let you know like if you are a project broadcast fan I prefer to use calendar or drip campaigns all the way I love the birthday campaigns and the anniversary campaigns Um, so I use all of those things. I haven’t dived too much into the others and there’s so many different campaigns that you can use, but those are my tried and true. So I talked about how to set them up, um, when they would be appropriate, when I would use a calendar versus a drip and vice versa, I also talked about, um, setting up keywords and keyword automations.
So for those of you who are new to text marketing, I don’t know if you’ve ever seen a post on social or a graphic somewhere that says text the word, join, and then it gives a phone number. Well, most likely they’re using some sort of text automation software. And what that does is when you text that word join, your number and then possibly your name, because you may be sent a form to complete gets entered into a campaign where information is delivered at a timely, in a timely manner. It could be something where it’s just like, they’re having a deal right now and you’re gonna get all the information on the deal. But then they probably still will keep you, or at least I would keep you on that list because you were interested at some point. So if say three months down the road, You didn’t join my team at the time, but three minutes down the road, we have a join special that’s out. Like right now, Epicure has the opportunity to join for free until the end of August. So I would send out a blast email or a campaign saying that, hey, here’s a deal that you might be interested in. Let me know. So it’s a way to get all these people, all these contacts into a central system. that you can use to deliver information.
Now, I like to create campaigns, just going back to campaigns. I like to create campaigns for my team. I create campaigns for my customers and I deliver different kinds of campaigns. So I might have one that is a recipe campaign. So I’ve sent out a message to my customers. And I said, okay, tell me how I can serve you best. And they had the option to pick, A, I wanna know about all the deals when they happen, like don’t skimp. So they go into my deals campaign. Then my next campaign could have been said, I want a new recipe each week. So they go into my recipe campaign. Or the next one could be, oh, I just wanna be updated on seasonal changes. So they go into my like product launch campaign. So I have all these things set up so that when I do get my next deal, I blast out a message to all of those who indicated that they want it. I’m not spamming because they’ve actually opted into this campaign to learn more. So I’m giving my customers what they want and when they want it. And that’s why I love Project Broadcast.
So if you haven’t dived into Project Broadcast, I’m gonna drop a link in the show notes. Now…It’s definitely worth taking a peek. It’s not free, it’s not a free service. It is a pay service. They do have a pay, I think a pay as you go option where you can join for a small amount and then you pay based on your credits. So what it is with the credits, each text message that goes out through automation or scheduling cost you one credit per person. They just recently went into email marketing too. So they’re like they’re expanding their offerings, but I highly recommend if you don’t have any of those types of systems in place, I would highly recommend going and checking out Project Broadcast to see if it’s the right fit for you.
But I’m finding that more and more people will open and respond to text messages because I don’t know if you’re like me, but I probably have about 16,000 unread emails. And now I do go into my emails every day, but I scan over and I open those that peak my interest. So if you’re sending me a message through email, make sure that the title or the subject line is catchy and it’s gonna peak my interest, because if not, most likely I’m not gonna open it. So keep that in mind. But text messages. For some reason, I cannot let them go on read. So I go in and I read it and I typically will respond. Now, keep in mind, people have the option like any automation service to unsubscribe or opt out. So you are gonna get from time to time that dreaded stop, but think about it this way. When somebody stops, sends you the stop and they don’t wanna receive your information more, just think of it as saying, Thank you to them for not making me spend money on somebody who’s not interested in my services.
So guys, if you’re interested in more information, connect with me. Like I said, we’re just wrapping up as this podcast airs, we’ll be wrapping up our six weeks of our My Text Automation Workshop. If you’re interested in learning more, I would run another one of these sessions. I typically do don’t want to run them with more than 10 people at a time. And the reason I’m saying that is because how I run them with the office hours, we actually work and implement your systems. So I want to be able to give everybody my time on one of these calls. So if we go over the 10, then it’s just going to be very, very stressful trying to fit everybody in And like I said, I want everybody when they walk into this course and when they walk away from this course to actually have a system set up and implemented by the end of the six weeks. So I hope you guys enjoyed the information that I shared. Like I said, if you have any questions or you want to reach out to me, you can reach me on Instagram or on Facebook. Just search for Spiced It Up with Lisa Duck and I should pop up somewhere. But I hope you enjoyed this episode of The Other 99% and we will see you again next week. Take care.
