Start Your 2026 Strong: Mission, Vision & Word of the Year

Success doesn’t happen overnight, and honestly? It doesn’t always happen in a single year either. So let this be your permission slip to set a big vision and bold goals for 2026—ones that might even carry you into 2027 and beyond. Because when you take the time to plan with purpose, everything changes.

Reflect to Move Forward

Before you dive into setting your 2026 goals, take a moment to look back at 2025. What worked? What didn’t? What felt heavy or forced, and what lit you up?

Grab a notebook or planner and ask yourself:

  • What worked well in my business this past year?
  • What felt heavy, stressful, or out of alignment?
  • What gave me energy or joy?

Let go of the things that don’t serve you anymore, and carry forward only what fuels you. Yes, even if that means saying goodbye to Facebook parties or events that just don’t spark joy. That’s growth.

Create a Mission That Grounds You

Your mission statement is your business’s north star. It’s a simple, clear statement that says: this is who I serve, how I serve them, and how it aligns with me.

It doesn’t have to be fancy or long. Here are two simple templates to try:

  • “My mission is to help [who] by [how] in a way that feels [energizing/meaningful/sustainable].”
  • “I’m building a business that prioritizes [value] over [value you’re letting go of].”

Maybe your mission is empowering women to embrace clean living through simple routines. Maybe it’s connecting with your local community through events and givebacks. Whatever it is—make sure it feels good and true to you.

Clarify Your Vision for 2026

Now, think ahead to December 31, 2026. What do you want to look back and say you accomplished?

Your vision is a snapshot of your future success. It doesn’t have to be about flashy numbers or big leaps. It can be as simple as adding 10 consistent customers or growing your confidence in going live.

Ask yourself:

  • What will my business look like at the end of 2026?
  • How will I feel when I reach those milestones?
  • What growth will I be proud of?

Write your answers like you’re already living them. Make it vivid. Make it yours.

Choose a Word That Keeps You Focused

Think of your word of the year as a guiding light. It should align with your mission, support your vision, and feel powerful every time you see it.

Last year, My word was “No.” Not because I wanted to shut everything down, but because I was ready to protect my time, my energy, and my vision. That word helped me grow more than ever.

Your word can be anything that aligns with your goals. Some favorites: bold, rooted, simplify, serve, connect, focus, steady. Try it on like a new outfit—does it feel right?

Make sure your word is visible. Put it on a vision board, your phone wallpaper, a Post-it by your desk—anywhere you’ll see it often.

Final Thoughts: Big Goals Deserve Big Vision

You don’t have to squeeze all your dreams into 12 months. You can create a mission that evolves, a vision that grows with you, and a word that brings you back to center when things get busy.
